It’s St. Patrick’s Day! Drinking Guinness, are you? Maybe not… sales of the fine black ale are flat in the US, barely up in Ireland, and dropping like a rock in Britain. Tragic. (The Economist)

But hey, maybe it has something to do with the Brits’ ability to obtain Guinness in potato chip form. Said chips, made by¬†Burts Potato Chips since 2012, are now available in the US. Flavors include “Original Guinness” and “Rich Beef Chili.” So go ahead and track down some of those… I guess. (Fox News)

Whether Guinness or some cheap swill dyed green, beer is beer, so here’s a handy guide to the science of your brew. Fun fact: “more layers of foam on top of a liquid make it less likely to spill.” So if you are a particularly stumble-prone drunk, it’s probably best to go with the heady goodness of Guinness (or a reasonable simulacrum).
