Pairing beer and food can be a scary thing. Most people are concerned with sounding like idiots. I, personally, am simply concerned with sounding slightly less-awesome. I have set a bar for myself, and it must be maintained. Such are the rigors of awesomedom. It’s kind of like being a superhero.
For anyone out there who has experienced, or is currently experiencing, anxiety over beer-related food pairings, you are not alone. Lucky for all of us, Men’s Journal posted this handy little article that will pave the way for your beer-pairing basics. Perhaps the next time you’re out for a fancy dinner, having obtained this knowledge will give you the confidence boost needed to go out on a limb and try something new, dammit. After all, there’s more out there than Spotted Cow or Fat Tire.
