Instant Beer Review: Begyle Comb the Desert

From the Chicago Desk:

THE BEER: Begyle Brewing’s Comb the Desert

WHAT IS IT? A schwartzbier

THE SERVING METHOD: a growler

HOW DID YOU CONE BY THIS BEER? I finally got off the wait list for Begyle’s CSB membership. CSB is “community supported brewery.” I live in a beer neighborhood. It’s actually considered that.

HOW MUCH IS THIS CSB MEMBERSHIP? $77 with tax and growler.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET A NEW BEER? Every month for six months!

SO HOW IS IT? It’s not bad. It’s roasty. Feels very light for a dark beer, but it is a lager. The mouthfeel is not heavy, if you follow. It’s not hoppy, either.

WOULD YOU DRINK IT AGAIN? Well, yeah. I got a growler full of it!

I MEAN WOULD YOU ORDER IT? Would you choose to get it? I would drink this again, but I would prefer to try something different. Is that an acceptable response?

DEEP THOUGHTS? Nope. None.
