Instant Beer Review, Oktoberfest Edition: Hometown Blonde

THE BEER: Hometown Blonde from New Glarus

THE PLACE: The party bus rolling on its merry way to Oktoberfest.

WHAT IS IT? An “Old World style pilsner.” So it’s a clean, light lager. More flavor than a PBR, but not by too terribly much.

HOW IS IT? Quite drinkable. It’s balanced, with a nice hop bitterness that never slides into skunky.

DEEP THOUGHTS: After careful consideration, I would say that this is the perfect beer to enjoy whilst sitting in the window seat of a charter bus, baking in the autumn sun. It’s precisely the kind of refreshing beverage that you want to use as a base before the serious stupidity kicks in. Which it will.
