WHAT? Dark Horse Brewing’s Scotty Karate

WHAT KIND OF BEER IS IT? It’s a scotch ale.

WHERE? Dexter’s Pub

AGAIN?! Yup. Come to think of it, I have been here a lot lately. What can I say? They treat me good. And I’m obsessed with their pizza. Although, today I have decided to try their prime rib Philly.

I DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE EATING. Fine. God.

IT’S 3:00 IN THE AFTERNOON ON A FRIDAY. WHAT’S THE CROWD LIKE? Eclectic as the audience at an Elton John concert.

HOW’S THE BEER? Here’s what the man himself, Scotty Karate, has to say:

Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade).
Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day. -SK

HOW MUCH? $6.00 for a 12 oz. pour.

MUST BE HIGH-OCTANE. Yessir. It weighs in at 9.75%. You have been warned. This little lady must be treated with respect.

DEEP THOUGHTS? I don’t typically go for scotch ales because I often find them to be too sweet. Not the case with this one. It’s nicely balanced, with a caramel-creamy finish. Well done, Dark Horse. Well done, indeed.
