Instant Beer Review: Wisconsin Brewing Co. American IPA

20140803-175234-64354072.jpgWHOA. POSTING A REVIEW TWO DAYS IN A ROW? Hey now.

GOOD WORK, IS ALL I’M SAYING.I know it. I’m on a roll. Today, I found myself in the same neck of the woods as Alt n’ Bach’s Town Tap and decided to stop in for a beer and a bite.

THAT’S OFF YOUR USUAL ROTATION OF DINING ESTABLISHMENTS. I don’t find myself in the neighborhood too often.

WHAT’RE YOU DRINKING? An American IPA from Wisconsin Brewing Co..

HOW IS IT? So fucking boring.

THAT’S ALL YOU’VE GOT TO SAY? Pretty much. It’s a beer that tastes like it’s having an uninteresting identity crisis. An overly-malted light-colored ale that doesn’t quite have the balls to be a big boy-tasting IPA. I’m not impressed.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER IT TO BE A SESSION PALE ALE, MAYBE? WHAT’S THE ABV? 7.1%, according to the website. If you’re looking for a good session ale, try the Demento from Ale Asylum or the Hop Rise from Central Waters.

DEEP THOUGHTS? Meh. I dunno. Skip it and have something else? I’ve never been overly gaga about any of Kirby Nelson’s brews, but he seems to have maintained quite the following around Wisconsin. Maybe I’m missing something?

DOUBTFUL. OBVIOUSLY EVERYBODY ELSE IS WRONG AND STUPID. You’re right. I am pretty awesome.

SURE. Good talk.
